Anabel Perez-Gonzalez
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW
Location
As a bilingual/bicultural therapist (Spanish) I have been committed to providing therapeutic services to the Latino community and to New Yorkers of varying diversity. Whether you are an immigrant or a first generation American it is often difficult to find professionals with whom you can feel safe. Trauma comes in many different forms and I specialize in helping people develop assertiveness skills and improve their personal relationships. I also specialize in sex therapy, experiences specific to women, LGBTQIA+, harm reduction, HIV+ individuals, family dysfunction, and identity issues including otherkin.
I take several different approaches in therapy and work eclectically with clients according to their needs, strengths, and preferences. I draw from CBT, DBT, EFT, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, neurobiology, social justice, and harm reduction psychotherapies. I am also an AASECT certified Sex Therapist.
My background is in family therapy which helps me look at people as small parts of a bigger whole. I also have a more relational style in how I build rapport with clients and am not afraid of using humor.
