About
My therapeutic approach is to work with you identifying your potential and the factors that maybe preventing you from achieving your goals. Together we will find and tailor the best therapeutic intervention to assist you. I am a culturally sensitive therapist with ample experience working with the Latino/Hispanic community as well as the Brazilian community. I also offer supervision for LGPCs and for LCPCs. I have 41 years of clinical experience initially as a physician and psychiatrist in Brazil, my birth country, and subsequently as a psychotherapist in the United States.
I work with the different stages of the life span - from infancy until the older years. My training in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry and psychotherapy assists me in better understanding the different developmental stages of life. My areas of expertise include, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, bereavement, and family problems.
I offer a supportive therapeutic space for my clients which promotes healing and resilience. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. My exposure to different cultures is crucial to my ability to understand and assist my clients.
