Many have experienced profound betrayals or loss while others are navigating the effects of adult or childhood developmental trauma.
Drawing on my training and professional background as an attorney and a counselor, I help clients gain clarity and insight to find a meaningful path to recovery. Along the way, they develop skills to manage anxiety, depression, grief, and fear and achieve life goals.
I have a diverse professional background, including work as a public defender, manager of a shelter for homeless women. and as a massage therapist. Having represented victims of domestic violence, I understand the legal system and offer informed support. I have extensive training in trauma therapy and have taught marriage counseling at the graduate level.
I have a down-to-earth counseling approach that leads to a trusting and positive relationships with my clients. I am a steady and compassionate advocate for the change they want to make. At times, our work focuses on setting goals and planning steps. Other times, we use EMDR to loosen the emotional hold from traumatic events in the past.
