Many of us seek counseling to achieve change in our lives. I believe that change occurs most easily in the presence of unconditional acceptance. From this belief, I offer a space to create a genuine and reliable therapeutic relationship, which I see as the foundation for growth and healing. Based on your concerns, worldview and preferences, I offer methods and tools for change and healing. I am currently a trainer for the Deb Dana and the Polyvagal Theory.
As a Certified Trauma Responsive Counselor, I understand and apply knowledge of interpersonal neurobiology, Polyvagal Theory and am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Certified Therapist. I specialize in utilizing and teaching about the nervous system to help people move into post-traumatic healing and growth. My pronouns are she/her/hers.
My goal is to help clients realize their mental health goals, experience healing and an increased sense of well-being. I work from a biology-based approach to healing, with the understanding that feelings are expressed first through the nervous system and then are processed in the brain. My style is compassionate, empathetic, direct, and infused with humor.
