Amy believes that change and growth happen within a safe and secure relationship. Oftentimes our symptoms serve a deeper purpose and Amy curiously and compassionately will help you explore that purpose. Amy is passionate about working with adult clients with dysfunctional families and relationship issues. She specializes in trauma, addiction, anxiety, identity, religious harm, and relational distress. Amy also works with children and caregivers who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Amy involves caregivers to address parental concerns and promote healthy parent/child attachment.
At the root of her work Amy uses a trauma-informed, attachment, & strengths based approach & tailors treatment based on what the client needs. She uses IFS, Mindfulness, and body-based interventions with adults. With couples/families she uses EFT & Gottman approaches. With children she uses Theraplay, experiential play, directive & nondirective play therapy.
Amy is LGBTQIA+ Affirming and dedicates time to learning about culturally sensitive approaches to treatment and unlearning personal racial/ethnic biases. As someone a part of the Queer community, she believes in the transformative power of community. Find out more on our website or follow us in IG (at)indigotherapygroup
