It seems brave to me to make a decision to start therapy, to come and open up to a complete stranger. Whether coming to gain life skills as an individual or a couple; Or coming to therapy to process life events as a family or an individual, the one thing on my part most necessary is to listen without judgment or a personal agenda. Working collaboratively, creating a relationship based on trust and empathy is vital. I feel like it is my part to be professional, ethical, and supportive. I specialize in "interpersonal neurobiology" which is an interdisciplinary view of the mind and how it affects how we feel and behave.

Clients are: couples, families, adults, young adults, teens, pre-teens, and children. People of all backgrounds, genders, and LGBTQ work with me. I am trained in both talk therapies and somatic therapies. Talk therapies are more about our feelings, somatic therapies focus more on what we are sensing (in our sensations). Also have a neurofeedback machine.

I have heard it said that steel under the heat of fire increases its durability. Perhaps with people this can increase our compassion, opening our hearts to a greater ability for love, authenticity and compassion.

Meditation Group

Meditation is now shown to be a way to not only increase relaxation but also to increase gray matter in the prefrontal cortex area of the brain, thus increasing the ability to make responsive decisions rather than behaving in a reactive manner. This gives one choice, thus increasing one's positive feelings and self esteem. This group teaches meditation techniques and visualization techniques. Ultimately group members will be able to meditate on their own.
