Hello there! My name is Amy, I'm a private practice therapist in the NRH area who focuses on trauma, neurodivergence, and LGBT+ issues. I work with people from all walks of life and different lifestyles. I teach religion and philosophy at Texas Wesleyan University, and specialize in spiritual trauma. I am happy to work with anyone individually or as a couple; and I do work with adolescents and families. I hope to hear from you soon!
In our first session we'll do a medical intake in which we'll answer questions about your life, health concerns you might have, and some goals you have for therapy. This being said, it's also a wonderful time to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit as counselor and client.
I've been working as a social worker and then private practice therapist since 2019, but before that I came from a life as a blue collar worker. I think my biggest strength is that I tend to take the experiences I've had the honor of being part of and bringing a practical voice to the therapeutic space.
