Making the decision to see a therapist is never easy and takes great courage. I try to provide a safe, trusting environment for adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious and/or depressed. In my practice I use a supportive, solution-focused approach, which is practical and results oriented. I see therapy as a process for change rather than merely an exercise in insight.
I help clients through difficult life transitions, especially when they are feeling stuck. I offer a non judgmental atmosphere where one can decompress, vent and then be able to turn one's focus to problem solving and moving forward in a healthier, more productive manner. I believe in empowerment, finding opportunities where one can make impactful changes.
In addition to individual therapy, I also do a lot of couples and parenting work, especially (but not exclusively) around special needs issues. Raising a child with special needs comes with unique challenges. I help parents develop coping strategies that can reduce anxiety and offer more peace of mind.
