Welcome, my name is Amy Gokey, LMHC. With over 18 years of experience, my passion is helping people create change in their lives. I enjoy working with people struggling with anxiety, grief, depression, past trauma, or relationships issues. I utilize approaches from interpersonal process, attachment theory and cognitive behavioral therapy to help you identify and work towards making achievable steps in your healing and recovery. I tend to be direct, yet compassionate during the therapy process.
I think therapy works best when clients can be honest, straightforward and process without judgment. Together, we will set goals to create a road map for achieving what you want in therapy. I try to encourage vulnerability and will challenge clients to grow through learning new skills and practicing those skills in their daily lives.
I've always loved helping people and trying to figure out the puzzle of why we behave and feel the way we do.
