People find a therapist because they are looking to improve their lives and relationships in some way. I am passionate about helping my clients achieve this growth and improvement; to move from a place of emotional pain or discomfort towards one of well-being and peace. It is my belief that every individual who steps foot in my office has strengths that we can embrace and build on. My style is collaborative...an active partnership between therapist and client. Together we will explore your feelings, experiences and personal goals.
ADOLESCENCE is a time of great vulnerablility but also potential. Working through issues and setting healthy life patterns at this time can have a positive impact on their lives, saving teens from future issues in adulthood. COUPLES can gain the skills and mutual understanding in therapy to improve their relationships.
I have expertise in working with those impacted by chronic or life-threatening ILLNESS. Patients as well as loved ones will benefit from counseling as they incorporate their disease into their lives. I have extensive experience in BEREAVEMENT, GRIEF & LOSS and have provided HOSPICE counseling for many years.

Amy Geller's Groups

Adopted Teens & Young Adults (Starting 9/26/17)

As children enter the teen years, they will see their adoption and their larger identity in a new, more complex way. A group environment provides a dynamic and supportive setting to work through sometimes difficult issues alongside others. This can serve to normalize the adopted teen's experience which often includes feelings of not knowing how and where they belong. Many adoptees struggle with issues of self worth, shame, and attachment. Participants of the group will all be screened either via collaboration with a current treating therapist or an evaluation by the group facilitator. Please call for information.
