Amy is a Latina, born and raised in Los Angeles with Guatemalan roots. Her educational background includes graduating Magna Cum Laude from Georgia State University with an M.S. in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling. Amy enjoys working with children from the age of 4-18 years old and uses a Play Therapy Adlerian approach when in counseling. Since she firmly believe that clients have diverse needs, Amy is knowledgeable with various other approaches, ranging from Play Therapy in Sand tray, Death, Divorce and Adoption, to Family - Adlerian Style.
Her professional interests include anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem, clinical depression, PTSD, coping with chronic health concerns, people with disabilities, school behavior, school academics and working with parents. Amy provides bilingual services to clients for both individual and family therapy.
