Amy Finkenstein is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the field for over 20 years. She is a strengths-based and client-focused therapist providing trauma informed care. Amy strives to empower adults and provide hope in sessions. She has been trained in CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and EMDR as well as relapse prevention. Amy utilizes both harm reduction and abstinence-based models. She supports individuals and couples in utilizing more effective coping skills to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and more.
Amy has extensive experience providing therapeutic treatments to adults in a variety of settings, She treats mental health, substance use, co-occurring disorders, behavioral issues, relational issues, poor self-esteem, difficulty with emotion regulation, anger management, issues related to transitions and stress management.
Amy has a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Adelphi University and a Master's degree in social work from UCONN. She utilizes an individualized and holistic approach meeting adults where they are and focusing on their unique goals and needs.
