I started my professional career in a hospital where I quickly recognized that a diagnosis of cancer or other life threatening illness has the potential to significantly disrupt a person's physical, emotional, social and financial well being. I became very passionate about learning how to help individuals cope with adjustment to illness and manage their feelings of fear, anxiety and depression. In working with you my hope is to provide you with tools and strategies to cope with the challenges of your illness. This in turn can lead to positive change, an enhanced quality of life as well as an outlook filled with hope.
I work with adults patients who have a diagnosis of cancer or other chronic illness or disability. This includes their family members, care givers and children over the age of 12. My focus is on addressing concerns regarding a new diagnosis, advanced cancer or illness, end of life issues as well as grief and loss.
For most people the thought of a cancer diagnosis or a life threatening illness can invoke immense feelings of fear, loss of control and emotional distress. My hope is that our journey together will better prepare you to meet the physical and emotional challenges of your illness. I am committed to helping you and I look forward to hearing from you.
