My name is Amy Bowen, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are at and establishing a caring and compassionate place for them where they feel seen and heard.
My approach to therapy is to help clients reach their goals by teaching and implementing skills and by getting to the root of the issues so that healing and growth can occur. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, self-compassion, mindfulness, and somatic approaches.
I was attracted to human behavior when I was in a high school psychology class, but I decided to go back to school to become a therapist after I went through my own mental health issues in my thirties. After that point, I wanted to learn as much as I could in order to help others overcome and thrive.
