I think to be an effective therapist you must work from and with many different modalities, philosophies, and orientations. I heavily rely on integrating a strength-based person-centered model but from there, I am open and willing to think out-of-the-box in order to best suit the individual needs of the client.
I have been a therapist for over 20 years with vast therapeutic experiences; including living with clients in the woods doing wilderness therapy for over two years, working in a traditional office setting with adult individuals, families and couples, as well as working at an emotional growth therapeutic boarding school for adolescent girls.
