About
I have been working with people to achieve happier and more contented lives and relationships for more than 20 years. I have a particular interest in working with people who are interested in changing habit patterns that are familiar but not working. We all have habitual patterns of doing, being, and relating that may not be what we want in our lives today yet they persist as they have been reinforced over time. Some habits we have learned stem from childhood, others we may have developed as adults.
Using energy psychology like the emotional freedom technique, recreation of the self (an adjunct to Hakomi ), and other mindful and experiential psychotherapies, old patterns are identified and uprooted while new ways of being are identified and developed. The basis of my training in developmental psychology provides a base.
Unique to my practice is its grounding in an understanding of the mind according to the ancient traditions of Eastern philosophy and psychology, like mind training and mindfulness, as well as the more modern version of this understanding, the new neuroscience of the brain.
