I became a counselor because I love being amazed by how creative, compassionate, and adaptive people can be. The most challenging moments are the ones that reveal our true selves. My favorite cases involve some sort of life transition. Often, it's a career decision, but it also could be a move that triggers anxiety, or troubling memories from the past bubbling up. These challenging transitions often are the points where we realize a change is needed. I have complete faith in human resilience and character. I also believe that on difficult journeys, most of us need a helping hand.

I adapt each treatment plan to the needs of the client. Pure talk therapy doesn't work for most of us. I often incorporate art therapy and other interactive techniques into my practice to help clients engage with the process. Time with me is your time. If you prefer e-counseling, I am on BetterHelp at https://www.betterhelp.com/amy-armstrong/

I have extensive training in career counseling and I am qualified to administer career assessments and personality inventories such as the Self Directed Search, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and Strong Interest Inventory. Regarding clinical issues, I incorporate EMDR into my treatment of anxiety & trauma..
