I help clients of all ages process and heal from traumatic experiences- these are things that happened earlier in life that overwhelmed the nervous system and may have created false, negative beliefs about oneself, others, and the world. Beliefs like “I’m not good enough, I can’t trust people; I'm not safe” can significantly impact how a person feels, thinks and reacts, and lead to issues such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. By healing trauma, we put the past in the past and transform negative beliefs into positive ones allowing clients to experience more joy, ease, and connection in their lives.
I use IFS and mindfulness to help clients go inside and get to know their thoughts and feelings; EMDR helps us get to the root by processing memories that are connected to present symptoms. I teach polyvagal skills for nervous system regulation and weave in play therapy and specialized attachment techniques to strengthen the parent/child bond.
If you are feeling depressed, anxious, struggle to regulate your emotions, are concerned about your child/teen or need parent support, please contact me for a free phone consultation. I have over 14 years of clinical experience working with adults, teens and children including 6 years as a school counselor.
