I’m Linda and I am an individual very similar to you. I have participated in therapy to overcome divorce, abuse, codependency, debilitating stress, and family issues. I continue to find my authentic self to be an individual who lives to pay it forward. I have a BS in Psychology and MS in Counseling Mental Health. I am a licensed both as a professional counselor (LPC) and a chemical dependency counselor (LCDC), and hold certification as a national counselor (NCC.)

I believe that our thoughts have so much power over who we are and where we are in life, and changing a person’s thoughts can empower and promote an individual in all aspects of life. Two of my strengths are empathy and being an encourager, which helps me to connect to others. I have training in EMDR and would like to work with those experiencing trauma of all ages. I have a special place in my heart for those suffering from grief, loss, and chronic disease. I was a Medical Assistant who worked with Oncology patients and saw the need for that population and their families to get counseling.

With 20 years of diverse experience in a variety of settings including MHMR, universities, residential care for teenage girls, and private practice, I consider it an honor and privilege to walk alongside others as they seek to reach their own goals and desires.

I am a LPC specializing in adult depression, codependency, boundaries, trauma and emotions. My favorite definition of mental health says that mental health is the unwavering commitment to reality at all cost. I want to help you be honest with yourself and identify what you're feeling and thinking so that you can process through it, heal, and ultimately, be better equipped for whatever life throws at you.

Sometimes, you just need to talk to someone who will listen. I am a good listener. I can often point out inconsistencies in your words and your actions. We can find coping skills that work. We can strategize change. I can help families seek educational evaluations that lead to their children with uncontrollable behaviors qualify for Special Education Services. I can help youth with ADHD find strategies to help them remain on task & reduce disruptive behaviors. I can help teens learn social skills & anxiety coping skills while reducing/eliminating self-harm. I can help adults work through anxiety, depression, grief and loss.

Marriage and family therapy has been the focus of my training in my schooling and professional career. I use this approach (systems approach) to assist my individual, couple, and family clients. During my career I have had the opportunity to work at a hospital, school, and the court system, which all helped prepare me for private practice. I have practiced psychotherapy for 26 years. My treatment approach is primarily cognitive behavioral with focus on the whole person. I tailor my approach to the individual as each person brings unique needs to the encounter. We work together to find the right blend of relationship and treatment. My perspective has always been that the best work evolves out of a trusting relationship that is mutual and confidential.
