2021-2022 Marriage & Family Therapy Network State Chair I offer individual, couple and group professional counseling for life stressors like trauma, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and couples and family conflicts, specializing in interpersonal relationships counseling (adult, tween, and adolescent) and proven treatment strategies to meet the unique needs of survivors of traumatic experiences including EMDR, Neurofeedback, CBT, DBT, and ACT. I provide individualized coaching toward successful coping and life skills.

I believe that everyone, young and old, has a right to feel good about themselves. Sometimes, things happen in life that leave us feeling unprepared for the road ahead. We look in the mirror and are unhappy with what we see, past trauma can leave us vulnerable to the environment around us, or our bodies and our brains do not create a cohesive whole. That is when we need help in discovering who we are and how we want to live our lives.

I serve a wide array of clients. These include individuals, families, and children. My background, skills, and experience lend themselves particularly well to younger clients. My practice most often addresses issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, relationships, anger management, attachment, divorce, emotion regulation, parent-child relationship, sibling conflict, self-esteem, blended families, and adoption.

My focus is to help people move through and overcome whatever obstacles are keeping them from experiencing a quality, fulfilling life. I work with a range of individuals and issues with either one person individually, or with a couple or family relationship. I have specialized training and education in treating ADHD in children and adults, in prenatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and trauma. I utilize a type of therapy called Somatic Experiencing to heal trauma which aims to restore the individual's nervous system to a less reactive state.

I am honored to have had the privilege of working with many amazing people over the past 25+ years. I specialize in working with trauma and abuse, PTSD. I also work with Depression, Bipolar, Anxiety disorders, OCD, and Adjustment disorders. I use a variety of treatment modalities with a psychodynamic approach including EMDR, ACT, CF-CBT; most importantly is the relationship and trust felt between the client and myself. I believe in the resiliency of the mind, body, spirit, and I am thankful to have the opportunity to walk beside those while they find their way to peace and happiness.

Sometimes in life, we feel stuck, we don't know where to go, or we just feel confused. Therapy is a great place to start when tackling big - or little - life questions! A good working relationship between a client and their therapist is extremely important; due to this, I feel rapport building is one of the key elements in beginning the therapeutic relationship. Dr. Ken Morris is a state licensed professional counselor with 30 years of experience. He has a passion for working with people that struggle with marital and relationship, substance abuse, mood, and trauma issues. Dr. Morris works with teenagers and adults and offers individual as well as group counseling using traditional and highly effective holistic modes of therapy. Marriage and family therapy has been the focus of my training in my schooling and professional career. I use this approach (systems approach) to assist my individual, couple, and family clients. During my career I have had the opportunity to work at a hospital, school, and the court system, which all helped prepare me for private practice.
