I also practice Gottman Method couples therapy.
SLOTS open NOW! Many of my clients come seeking clarity on why they feel the way they feel, what's getting in the way of their goals, and how they have established patterns of relating that do not serve them. Others struggle with long-term mental health issues, trauma or crisis. I work with clients to solve problems and diminish symptoms by exploring the roots of their troubles. Through my training and careful listening, I empower my clients to create lasting change in their lives through the insight we gain together while providing a safe space to connect and experience relief.

Additionally, I have achieved Level 1 and Level 2 in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
"When we protect ourselves so we won't feel pain, that protection becomes like armor that imprisons the softness of the heart". In therapy, rather than avoiding pain, we learn how to hold space for it. Therapy is a space to slow down, to be present and to fully connect to ourselves and our experiences. When we connect directly to our experiences, we create space to foster emotional growth, gain insight and move toward healing.

I offer a modern therapeutic experience for the modern adult. I aim to be compassionate, authentic, and direct when working with clients; always prioritizing building trust and safety within our relationship. I will help you explore how both past and current experiences may be playing a role in present-day challenges. Then, we will work on learning skills that will help you live the life you wish for and deserve.

Pursuing your full potential is a noble goal, but it can feel frustrating when you get stuck and you're not making meaningful progress. I aim to help you build a strong foundation for your pursuits. We’ll work together to clarify your guiding principles and develop tools so that you can take meaningful action toward your goals. I specialize in providing support to adults and young adults struggling with ADHD, low self-esteem, anxiety, and relationship issues. As a son of immigrant parents, I am also familiar with the pressures that can come from fulfilling a specific role and expectations for one’s family.

In addition to IFS, I integrate somatic and mindfulness work, as well as use evidence based Gottman Method techniques.
Sometimes in life we feel disconnected from ourselves and the people we love most. We feel a strong desire for change whether we know exactly what that change is yet or not. At times that change is forced upon us due to a loss of some kind in which we find ourselves grieving and in pain. Or the change we want feels unacceptable and risky. As a therapist, I believe in the transformative power of change. I believe we all possess internal wisdom and the ability to change in ways that are needed and desired. I am also aware that change can be scary and feel impossible at times.

I draw from the Gottman Method, CBT, DBT, IFS, and MSC, as well as 14 years of experience as a married partner, parent and educator.
I am a trauma-informed provider supporting couples and individuals navigating grief/loss, conflict, trauma and transition. I am passionate about supporting folks identifying with neurodiversity (eg. eg. autistic, AuDH, diagnosed with ADHD, etc ). Clients I support often struggle with the impact of stories about who they "should be", questioning, "Do I matter?" or shedding pieces of themselves to create a sense of belonging. Understanding our stories is one of the bravest things we can do. Together we can explore yours, identify your values and strengths, and pursue healing and growth.

I support Trauma Processing; Harm Reduction for Substance Misuse; Couples Therapy; and Career Development & Changes using various modalities including KAP (ketamine assisted psychotherapy), PHRI, IFS, CBT, EMDR and Gottman Method.
Our cultural emphasis on paid work identity has led to some of us getting stuck continually striving for “more” and feeling starved in other areas like meaning making, community, spirituality and connection. My life experience with trauma, addiction and LGBTQ+ concerns make this work personal for me. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex-positive, inclusive of all identities and enjoy working with clients in every life stage. My professional and personal experiences allow me to have deep empathy for those who are facing major life challenges such as trauma, substance misuse, divorce, career change, chronic health issues and loss.

I utilize the Gottman Method for couples work.
You can feel confident that whatever your issue is, we can talk about it and together we can figure out an approach to alleviate your suffering. Sometimes we need guidance while at other times we need someone to listen and hold space for us. It is possible that you are looking for a fresh take on your circumstances or have tried "everything" out there and are ready to give up. Do not be discouraged. We can figure out a way for you to heal.

My therapeutic approach is based in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and The Gottman Method.
I work primarily with young adults and millennials moving through radical life transitions such as moving, beginning/ending relationships, career changes, and grief and loss. Life transitions, even positive ones, can leave us feeling stuck, alone, confused, anxious, and even despairing. My treatment with you will be tailored to your goals, preferences, and desired outcomes for therapy. I treat each of my clients with respect and provide an atmosphere full of safety and free of judgment.

Gottman Method Therapists

How does the Gottman method work?

One of the core doctrines of the Gottman method is that negative emotions hurt relationships about five times more than positive emotions help them. Thus, couples require five times more positive interactions than negative interactions with each other. The therapist will guide clients on how to improve communication and understanding of each other to manage conflict and have their emotional needs met. The therapist will also advise couples on how to repair relations with each other when conflict arises, and therefore avoid lasting damage.

Is the Gottman method evidence-based?

Yes, this method is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy. The method is based on more than 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, the psychologists who developed the method. The Gottmans analyzed decades of data to draw conclusions about what types of interactions are likely to lead to specific results, and which interventions are most likely to lead to success. Studies have found that this approach leads to improvements in relationship satisfaction, intimacy, communication skills, and a lower rate of divorce.

How long does the Gottman method take?

The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and an average course of treatment is around 10 sessions. In some cases, such as for couples dealing with a critical problem, the therapist will suggest an intensive course of treatment, with daily sessions over the first two to four days. Treatment is complete when the couple is satisfied and has met the goals they’ve set, and when the therapist believes they have the skills to continue on their own.

Is the Gottman method effective?

Through the Gottman method, couples can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. This treatment has been used for more than 40 years; the method is supported by empirical research, including randomized controlled trials that have demonstrated effectiveness in improving relationship outcomes for couples. Like any talk therapy, success or failure depends in large part on how committed the clients are to making positive changes and working toward results.
