The focus of our practice, is to assist adults, children, and families with obtaining relatable therapy, to reach goals. We assess situations in your life which contribute to current emotions behaviors and thought patterns. With child and adolescent clients our focus is similar, with the addition of close communication with the family. Moreover, with child and adolescents, we will focus on depression, impulsive behavior, limited attention span, oppositional/defiant behaviors, dishonesty, and social issues in school/home. Family and/or friends are welcome in your sessions for support. We do offer 430p-630p, and weekend appointments.

I have been working with children, adolescents, families, and adults for 20 years. I have worked in a mental health center setting, as well as, a large practice which implemented a team approach to care including psychiatrists, nurses, and psychotherapists. In both settings, I gained valuable experience in treating various disorders, as well as issues within families.

Lacey has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2009, and is a Counseling Supervisor with the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling of the State of Alabama. She received her Master's Degree in Community Counseling from the University of South Alabama. Lacey is a Master’s Addiction Counselor through NADDAC, currently a member of the Alabama Counseling Association and NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. In her counseling practice, she approaches therapy with her clients from a holistic standpoint, helping them identify their needs which relate to their emotional, psychological and relational health.

I enjoy working with clients to help identify their strengths, overcome obstacles and build their self-esteem. I work with clients to normalize their feelings and increase their self-awareness. I am passionate about removing the stigma from therapy and mental health treatment. I try to promote mindfulness when dealing with strong emotions and work to offer clients a safe and nonjudgmental place to share their feelings.

I have extensive experience working with multiple populations (i.e. children, adolescents, and adults). I have worked with children, adolescents and their families addressing behavioral and emotional issues and those with chronic mental illness (such as Depression, Anxiety, and Schizoaffective Disorder). I have also worked inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment. I have training and background addressing issues related to mood disorders, anxiety, behavioral and emotional problems, and attention deficit disorders.

I offer Assessment and Counseling to address: Personal - Family - Marital 'Life's' Issues and 'Veteran's' Issues (Primarily those that resulted in 'PTSD.'). I will help and encourage you in telling your 'story'. 'Living in-to the events' that caused your distress is essential for you to be able to move on.
