When meeting clients I begin with the question of "What happened to you" rather than "What is wrong with you." When I get to watch and bear witness as an individual or family grows and is able to heal it humbles me! I like to walk along side those I work with in helping them develop/discover the life and relationships they desire. I also enjoy working with couples in achieving satisfying marriages or relationships. When not at work I enjoy reading, being in nature, spending time with my family, walking my dog and gardening. I also believe in bringing humor into my work as it helps us all remember what in life is good!
Amber is trained in EMDR, certified in Trauma Focused-CBT, Rostered in Child Parent Psychotherapy. Due to specialized interest in working with children (and their families) who have been adopted or are in the foster care setting, Amber is MN ADOPT Help Program vetted therapist and is PACC Certified.
