Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed and exhausted by the painful thoughts running through their minds all day. Perhaps it is an unrelenting self critic who never lets you feel good enough. Or a list of anxious “what if’s” that keeps you awake at night, preparing for the worst. For some, it is scary, shameful thoughts that come out of nowhere. Others feel haunted by a frightening or confusing experience from the past. You may even struggle with thoughts about suicide or self harm. As a result, you feel stressed, depressed, or ashamed and you see the effect on your behavior, work, and relationships.
I help tweens, teens, and adults heal from anxiety/OCD, depression, trauma, and self-harm. I specialize in the treatment of adolescents and am skilled at helping teens work through painful emotions and experiences. With adults, I help you better understand how your painful thoughts and emotions have developed and teach skills to help you take control.
Our work together will be collaborative, respectful, and tailored to your strengths and needs. Specifically, my approach utilizes components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Therapy. I have specialized training in working with adolescents, trauma, and postpartum anxiety/depression.
