I build strong therapeutic relationships with clients that are looking for a person-centered approach. I aim to empower my clients by identifying their strengths, reinforcing them and walking with them as challenges arise. A balance of challenge and empathy can be anticipated in our sessions to promote growth and connection. I hope that my clients come with willingness to move towards self-exploration, autonomy and acceptance. My background in various approaches, training and work environments allowed for flexible approaches for each of my clients. Leaving them with the ability to explore choices and care options.
My preferred specialities include grief and loss, trauma, attachment, family therapy and DBT I have years of trauma focused therapies and am trained in CPT, WET and TF-CBT. I have worked with many clients with complex grief which included leading grief therapy groups for children and youth. DBT is skill focused and my preference for co-morbidity and change.
Validation can allow for a client to feel understood and felt-safety to heal. Your experiences are uniquely your own and you are here to feel heard and supported. It is a privilege to sit with my clients through their darkest and brightest days as they experience them. I hope to offer unconditional positive regard, empathy and light humor when needed.
