About
I'm a play therapist by training and by heart, which means that I will meet you where you are and strive to improve the connections you make in your world. My practice primarily focuses on working with children and their families, but I also enjoy adults struggling with life stress. I have more than 15yrs experience as a counselor, and more than 25yrs in the mental health field providing support and education to children and families. Behavioral issues, from anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation, sensory processing, spectrum issues, as well as years working with foster care, adoption and other attachment issues.
I'm a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. I use a client centered approach where the client takes the lead and I am there to support. I have training in sand tray, trauma, sexual reactivity, sensory processing issues, Client Centered Play Therapy and Child Parent Psychotherapy. Allowing a wide range of tools to draw from to help clients grow and thrive.
Play therapy is my passion and where the bulk of my practice is focused. I love the beauty of play as it meets clients where they are in a way that can make the counseling journey fun and less intimidating. To quote Mr. Rogers, “Play is a Child’s Language”. I want to help kids, their families and all individuals make positive connections in their environment
