I believe that even if you are experiencing something difficult, you have knowledge, experience and skills we can draw on in our work together. I will listen closely to what is troubling you, as well as what is most important to you. I hope that my questions and ways of being with you make space for the precious and possibly overlooked stories of your life to emerge and become more visible to you. If you have experienced trauma, abuse, are affected by racism, heterosexism, ablism or other forms of invalidation, reaching out may feel extra difficult. I will work to prioritize your safety and sense of belonging in our work together.
I am most influenced by practices of narrative therapy, which considers the stories we carry and where they come from. I will work with you to make meaning of the difficulty you're facing, to expose unhelpful narratives, and amplify preferred ones. In my experience, this process can open up new perspectives, even with difficulties that have persisted.
Working with me will feel like having a conversation with another person with you at the center.
