Therapy matters because being truly heard can change how we understand ourselves. Sometimes we need space to slow down, put words to our experiences, and gain perspective with someone who is genuinely present and without agenda. My approach is authentic, compassionate, and grounded in creating a space where clients feel safe to explore what’s beneath the surface.
I’m Amanda Hood, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Talking Path Counseling. I’ve been practicing since 2011 and work with clients in both traditional office sessions and outdoor walk-and-talk therapy.
Movement during therapy can support emotional processing, reduce stress, and help conversations flow more naturally. Whether we meet in the office or outdoors, my goal is to help clients feel more connected to themselves, supported in their growth, and less alone in what they’re carrying — finding healing along the talking path.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you’ve been carrying things alone for a long time. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether we meet in the office or outdoors, I strive to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and encouraged as you move toward healing and clarity. Reach out today.
