It is natural for a part of us to not want to engage in therapy, and sometimes we have to tune into the part of us that is saying it could be worth trying. I establish a compassionate, patient, and accepting environment where individuals can gain new information, strengthen their coping strategies, and recover at their own pace. I assist individuals with recognizing their strengths, embracing self-compassion, and self-learning in a way that is non-judgmental. I also assist individuals with moving from stuck-points and recovering from trauma.
I have an eclectic therapeutic style, pulling from my educational background at the Ohio State University and professional trainings in strength-based therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), brainspotting, internal family systems, somatic therapy, and expressive art and movement.
I believe that we are experts of ourselves, and predefined boxes and labels rarely capture the magnitude of our spirits. I work with individual adults providing online therapy. I specialize in the following areas: trauma, sexual violence, stress management, self-esteem, self-acceptance, LGBTQIA+ issues, adjustment issues, depression and anxiety.
