Hello! My name is Amanda Burns. I am an Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor. I am also recognized as a Certified Addiction Professional from the Florida Board and received certification from Florida State in Trauma and Resiliency. I graduated from University of South Florida Summa Cum Laude in 2018 with a Bachelors in Psychology. I am located in Sarasota Florida and currently work within Sarasota Addiction Specialists.
More often than not addiction is coupled with varying concerns including: trauma, anxiety, depression, & distorted thinking patterns. Focusing on a wholistic approach clients are able to heal and grow. I seek to identify & cope with the underlying causes of the addiction in order to treat the presenting problems that are creating the consequences.
I also have over 17 years of lived experience and maintaining my own sobriety. My commitment to recovery has allowed me to heal and help others find their inner strength to do the same. Formal training and personal empathy are the key components to provide insight, validation, and clarity for clients to make lasting change.
