It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help, so kudos to you! I believe in a strengths-based, client-centered approach in my practice. I strive to provide my clients with a warm, comfortable, and supportive environment to undergo their mental wellness journey. I am a trauma informed therapist and am trained in EMDR and Brainspotting. Trauma can come in many forms such as childhood emotional/physical abuse, sexual abuse, witnessing/experiencing relational violence, and surviving horrific incidents. It is worth mentioning I enjoy working with and empowering adult children of emotionally immature parents.
I am an eclectic therapist so I tailor my interventions to each client's specific needs. I am constantly reading/researching so psychoeducation is big in my practice. I commonly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, as well as the brain-based methods mentioned above. I also facilitate educational support groups.
