Amanda M Meyer
LMHC
Many elements contribute to our feelings of happiness and well-being. For many, it may be difficult to identify what attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, and patterns are destructive and detract from those positive feelings. I work with adolescents and adults who are interested in understanding these factors and, furthermore, making the changes necessary for self-improvement. I work best with individuals who are motivated for growth. My experience has led me to an understanding that each person has different needs and is coming from their own unique perspective.
Throughout the therapeutic process, I work to create an environment that is safe and supportive. We may work on a variety of issues including increasing personal insight, improving relationships, managing stress, and developing effective coping strategies.
My approach is individualized. I work collaboratively with you to reach goals that you find practical, important, and fulfilling. I have had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, and adults in their efforts to address various issues including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, chronic and acute mental illness, substance abuse, disability, and behavioral disorders.
