Hey there! My name is Amanda Grippi. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 20 years of clinical experience working with individuals, families, minors, preteens, and children with ADHD, Anxiety, Autism or Asperger's Syndrome, LGBTQIA+, Trauma, and PTSD. That being said, I am always client-centered and use a mix of Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), EMDR, Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapies during treatment. I believe that I am down-to-Earth and open-minded and don't just tell them what I think but what they need to do.
While I may be the “expert” on therapy tools and strategies, I believe that you are the expert on yourself. That means that I won’t ever tell you what to do. I like to think of myself as a guide. Together we can explore the issues you’re dealing with, organize them, so they start to make sense, and plan out how best to solve them.
Our first session is just a chance to get to know each other. It's a safe space for you to discuss why you're seeking therapy and to begin to set what specific goals you have for treatment.
