I believe people are capable of healing, change, and being their better selves regardless of current or past experiences. In my office you will receive professional support, feedback, and encouragement. Together we will work to gain insight and implement effective strategies for change. Counseling need not be a long drawn out process. Knowing the critical factor for counseling success is the relationship between you and your therapist, I focus on understanding your experience and perspective without judgment and with a genuine desire to help. In times of pain and suffering we all need to feel we are not alone.
I work effectively with individuals and couples to improve life and relationships with a proven solution focused method. Helping couples overcome an affair is one of my specialities. I have also written a book and given a TEDx talk on launching dependent adult children. For the younger years, I am certified as a Calmer, Easier, Happier Parenting trainer.
In addition to my civilian counseling experience, I was part of the debriefing team for returned US Air Force prisoners of war during Operation Desert Storm. My advanced formal counseling education from The College of William & Mary, on the job training, and personal experience inform my work. I walk the walk and humbly practice what I preach.
