Are you seeking change and solutions but don't know where to start? Are your current solutions no longer working? I truly believe that we all have to capacity to heal and sometimes we need a guide to help us explore and find answers. Whether you are struggling with self esteem, relationships, addiction, mental illness, or communication, I would like to help guide you along your journey to health. I work with individuals and couples/families and I specialize in addiction, interpersonal issues, and trauma. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist.
I work by increasing awareness and insight, creating meaning, and eliciting your strengths. I use a combination of solution-focused and attachment-based interventions, and I frequently borrow tools from ACT, CBT, and DBT. I use humor, directness, and appropriate self-disclosure to build the therapeutic relationship. I am also ETT Level I certified.
Like many helpers in this field, I consider myself a wounded healer. My own experience in recovering from trauma and other challenges led me to pursue this line of work and ultimately enable me to connect with clients.
