Currently accepting clients on Sundays in Biddeford and Mondays after school in Scarborough. Amanda is a School Counselor with over twenty years of experience supporting children and families who are looking for ways to find solutions for overwhelming emotions in an effort to promote positive well being and healthy functioning.
If your child’s behaviors and/or emotions have you feeling eager to find a solution, she can help. Being a parent or caregiver to a child struggling with behavioral and emotional challenges is difficult. She offers children the opportunity to learn skills to manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to feel less anxious and more regulated.
Her approach to treatment is warm, collaborative, and dynamic which helps children to better communicate their needs. She draws upon research based strategies and cognitive behavioral techniques using tools related to attachment theory, play therapy, and a strengths based approach to assist children and parents in building confidence with coping skills.
