Hello, my name is Catherine Stansbury. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and an EMDR Certified Therapist (EMDRIA). I practice at Stansbury Counseling in Round Rock, Texas. I specialize in trauma therapy for individual adults, ages 18-100. I have a special interest in older adults and their caregivers, since caregiving is what led me to become a social worker. It is my honor and my joy to work with persons who have carried terrible burdens of trauma and pain for many years; and to help them unload those burdens, and find healing, hope, and peace.

Although my approach to counseling draws from a variety of models and approaches (including EMDR, interpersonal neurobiology, polyvagal and attachment theories), all are rooted in the fundamental principles of non-judgmental acceptance, authenticity, and experience. Beyond the exploration of old patterns of beliefs and behaviors, my focus is on helping clients find solutions. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to help my clients develop knowledge and tools that will facilitate sustained growth long after therapy has ended.
