I became a psychotherapist because everyone needs “that person” in their life who will always believe in them, support them, and not judge them based on their past. As we all continue to navigate life’s transitions and changes, there are points where we find ourselves needing extra guidance and support. Whether you are currently thriving or struggling in life, deciding to seek therapy can be a challenging, rewarding, and life-changing experience. As a therapist, I strive to be “that person” by providing a non-judgmental, warm, and compassionate environment that fosters growth.

What brings you to therapy? What would you like to talk about? At some point, we yearn to be heard and be understood. Life brings all kinds of challenges. Using the art of conversation, we will meet and unfold what is happening and how we can address what is happening. Our circumstances can be an amalgamation of multiple factors, external as well as internal. I am interested in getting to know you and see if we can make sense of the circumstances, feelings and challenges you are going through. Therapy sessions can also be conducted in Hebrew.

It takes a great deal of courage to admit that you’re facing difficulties, and even greater to take the steps to do something about it. Therapy, takes a great deal of commitment, honesty, and determination to find resolve and peace. Psychotherapy, talk therapy, is not always easy. Some sessions you will leave feeling positive, and other's Not so much. This is part of the process, and it's necessary. Know that you are not going through this alone. In a sea of energy, seeking authenticity can be painful. This practice offers a reconditioning of how we process information creating new pathways of understanding to co-construct questions of ethics, empathy, and imagination that include the nuanced fragilities of our shared stories. The therapeutic-transformational approach is centered around disrupting systems of power by guiding fellow humans to claim their own knowledge by engaging their intuition. The work questions the ways larger forces have informed us about what counts as mental health and what constitutes happiness, presence, fulfillment, illness, or suffering.

Alzheimer's Therapists

What are the first-line treatment options for Alzheimer’s disease?

The first-line treatment for Alzheimer’s disease is often medication, which may be prescribed based on the severity of the disease. These include cholinesterase inhibitors, memantine, or a combination of the two. Behavioral treatments can help people cope with emotional distress, such as anxiety or anger, and explore lifestyle changes related to housing, caregiving, sleep, and finances.

When to seek treatment for Alzheimer’s?

It’s best to seek treatment at the first signs of dementia. Early warning signs of Alzheimer’s include memory problems, such as forgetting appointments or directions, as well as trouble concentrating, paying attention, retrieving words, and carrying out daily household tasks. An early diagnosis can help people slow the progression of the disease with treatment and plan for the future in terms of housing, support, finances, and legality.

Are there specific medications to treat Alzheimer’s?

Medications approved by the FDA to manage symptoms of Alzheimer’s include galantamine, rivastigmine, and donepezil for mild to moderate Alzheimer’s, and memantine, donepezil, and the rivastigmine patch for moderate to severe Alzheimer’s. These drugs can help manage the disease, but no drug currently cures the disease. Medications recently approved by the FDA, such aducanumab and lecanemab may slow the disease course, but aspects of their effectiveness are still debated.

Are there natural treatments for Alzheimer’s?

Alzheimer’s disease cannot be cured via natural remedies (nor via medication), but some lifestyle habits can help forestall it or slow its progression. Lifestyle activities that can help prevent Alzheimer’s disease include regular exercise, a healthy, well-rounded diet, stimulating cognitive activity, time spent socializing, adequate sleep, and stress management as needed.
