The times we live in are increasingly stressful and complex for athletes, adults and elders (65+) who are struggling with transition out of sports, injury, health issues, grief, isolation, complex family dynamics, histories and relationships. Many people feel stuck, anxious and /or depressed. Those feelings then affect their behavior. Therapy does not make difficulties go away; it helps you change your relationship with them.
Mental health is a function of the body, mind, spirit, social influence and, environment as well. You learn to appreciate your inner strength and gain respect, as opposed to being in destructive patterns.
You will learn to build resiliency in the face of adversity. We can develop your goals together and create strategies for new pathways to learn about, love and respect yourself. The goal is to reduce suffering and improve your life. We will build a connection based on trust, safety and understanding.
I graduated with a master's degree in social work from Wayne State University in 2009. I have helped people address issues of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addiction, relationship problems and trauma.
