Stuck. Overwhelmed. Lost. Frustrated. Ashamed. These are deeply painful emotions. I work with adults aged 18 and up, and these are just some of the words that many of my clients use to describe the pain that prompted them to seek therapy. Perhaps you've experienced trauma, or are in a difficult relationship. You might be struggling to integrate faith or God into your experience, or maybe you prefer therapy that doesn't involve God at all. Maybe, you've just been feeling sad, disconnected, worried, or "out of it." No matter what, we usually want the same things: freedom. Peace. A deeper sense of and confidence in who we are.
I believe healing occurs in the context of our relationships with ourselves and those around us, and I work with clients to achieve this through exploring their concerns together, not as an “expert,” but rather as a “co-journeyer,” bearing witness and holding calm space in sessions for this to happen in a way that allows clients to feel safe and understood.
The primary tool I bring to sessions is my authentic self...who I am at my core. When a client enters the therapy space, they bring their authentic self as well. This forms the basis of the therapy process, and allows the exciting part—growth and healing—to begin. If you feel ready to proceed with therapy, I would be honored to join you in your journey!
