Hi, I'm Alissa! My name is Alissa Burnham, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Perinatal Mental Health therapist. I work with individuals across the life span with a focus on treating perinatal clients and young adults 18 - 25 yo. A blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness coupled with an anti-oppression framework supports clients in finding clarity, building on existing inner resources and increasing well being with self and others.
My communication style is warm, personable and open. My goal is for each client to feel comfortable and safe to talk about anything - particularly those parts of themselves or events they may have never felt shared. Flexibility is important to me in each session as different needs or issues may arise.
I've always found a groundedness in being there for people through difficult times. I seem to be someone people feel they could open up to and I really value people's trust in me. I've always had an innate curiosity about why we are the way we are - being a therapist allows me both the capacity to be really present for others and remain curious.
