Life is far from easy. It’s even harder when you don’t have someone you can talk to without worrying about judgment, criticism, or bias. My goal in the counseling relationship is to be that steady person in your life who can sit with you in both chaos and calm, help you slow it down or speed it up, but ultimately to figure out what works for you. I come to this work with years of experience as a first responder, and I carry that perspective with me — especially when sitting with trauma, crisis, and the kind of pain that doesn’t always get talked about.
I’ve worked with addiction and recovery and see trauma as a central thread in many of the challenges people face. My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, with a strong appreciation for the psychodynamic perspective — how our past quietly shapes our present.
