About
I counsel the parents of children struggling with social, emotional and behavioral issues. As a clinician in practice for over 30 years, I have extensive experience in the treatment of children, adolescents, families, adults and couples. I am a published author, with special attention to issues of childhood and work with families, and have frequently spoken on these topics.
I work with children ages two through adolescence, on issues including emotional dysregulation, anxiety, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, social skills and ASD. Parent counseling is a vital part of the process. My work with adults includes individual, family and couples treatment. Focus is on anxiety, depression, mood disorders and interpersonal conflict.
I am eclectic in my approach to treatment, creating treatment plans unique to each child, adult, couple or family. Approaches include: psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, relational therapy, family therapy and play therapy. Please visit my website at: www.AllysonIAbornLCSW.com for further information.
