As a therapist my priority is to be a genuine, thoughtful, and empathic partner to you in addressing your mental health concerns. Together we will work on helping you feel empowered and better able to take on life's challenges. I focus on both long and shorter term psychotherapy for older adolescent and adult clients struggling with a variety of different issues. Please see my website www.allynrodriguez.com for further details on my experience and approach to therapy. Do not hesitate to contact me discuss your treatment needs and whether or not we'd be a good match.

I have several specializations that include working with survivors of trauma and loss, as well as interpersonal and identity issues. Multiple other problems typically come along with these issues and become intertwined. My goal is to help you untangle these matters and work towards developing more control over your life.

In addition to individual therapy, I also provide services for couples and groups. Below is a description of my current group offerings. If you have interest in other types of group therapy or couples work, please contact me. Lastly, I have a pre-licensed psychologist who I supervise that is available for those in search of lower-fee therapy services.

Allyn Rodriguez's Groups

Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Training Group

I offer a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills group, which can be a valuable addition to individual therapy by teaching practical strategies for managing intense emotions and experience in relationships. The group runs for four months in total and is open to new members at the beginning of each four month cycle. The modules are: 1) Mindfulness, 2) Emotion Regulation, 3) Interpersonal Effectiveness and 4) Distress Tolerance. Group members are required to be in individual therapy, however therapists do not have to be DBT-oriented. Please contact me for more information on the group and to find out when the next cycle begins.

More about this group

Interpersonal Process Group

This group is for individuals who want to improve their self-understanding and relationships with others. The primary focus of this group is to engage in the "process," or here-and-now experience of relationships in the moment as a means of creating change. Group members will become more familiar with their patterns of relating to others and develop skills to improve the quality of their relationships. Currently this group is open to all genders. Three pre-group orientation and intake meetings are required to join. Please contact me directly for more information and to discuss whether group is good fit for your needs.
