Marriage & Family Therapist, MA
We are drawn to what is familiar. Most of us learned as children that we had to behave and think in certain ways to survive in our given environments. This knowlege became our childhood coping skills. We utilize these coping skills, which may need to be re-evaluated in our adult relationships. In addition, we may find that we are depressed, anxious or repeatedly choosing the "wrong" partner. I have an empathic understanding of these issues and will help you to move forward so that you can enjoy more happiness in life, with loving, healthy relationships.
Working from the information that you bring in and taking my lead from you, I will gently help you to recognize and re-evaluate patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving which are no longer serving your best interests. I work with individuals, couples and families.
I utilize hypnotherapy as an adjunct to traditional talk therapy. It is extremely useful in treating anxiety (phobias, dread of medical procedures, test taking, public speaking, etc.), physical pain, and many other applications. Some issues can be successfully treated in as little as 2 sessions.
