Most people come to therapy when they're feeling stuck, and the ways most of us cope with that stuck place, such as avoidance, procrastination, people-pleasing, acting out, sex, spending, and/or drugs and alcohol, tend to make things worse. In psychotherapy, I focus my efforts on helping my clients understand and move through that stuck place, instead of just treating the symptoms of it, and have found this to be more effective long term. As of August 2025, I am available to see new clients.

I opened my practice 14 years ago and I have 18 years of experience total. I have specialized training in helping people move through the change process, whether that change relates to an anxiety or depressive disorder, a relationship, familial, or work issue, or a problem with substances or other compulsive behaviors.

Getting started is the hardest part of any change, and sometimes it helps to think of the change process as a ladder with a thousand rungs; when you're at the bottom, you don't have to figure out how you are going to get all the way to the top, that is too much for now, all you have to do is start moving up, one single rung at a time.
