I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training in treating children and adults who have experienced painful life events that result in anxiety, depression and interpersonal difficulties. I believe that success in therapy occurs through the therapeutic relationship. This relationship is collaborative, where together we seek goals for growth. In order for this relationship to form, a safe and supportive environment must be provided. I have experience working with a variety of people and diverse cultures. I welcome everyone and the opportunity to learn more.
I received specialized training accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) in treating psychological trauma. I'm unique in how I treat complex trauma and my patients report great success in reducing their symptoms. By treating the lack of intimacy with our parents and family our relationship dynamics with others change over time.
My goal is to develop a relationship of trust through disclosure and confidentiality. That trust is intimacy which is lacking in many of our relationships. Especially where we think it should be the most, with our family. Intimacy is a pattern we learn from our parents and teach to our children. Through the therapeutic relationship we explore these patterns.
