I specialize in working with individuals with social learning deficits. During intake calls, many parents report their child to have some (or all) of the following traits: Very bright (above average IQ), better with adults and younger children than with peers, interrupts, trouble with balanced conversation (tends to monologue or doesn't contribute), struggles with losing, challenges with emotional regulation and impulse control, inflexible, strong language abilities, difficulty with perspective taking, wants to engage with others but often gets stuck, trouble with problem-solving, and/or executive function challenges.
The "social rules" change with age and people who struggle with social learning do not typically learn these social rules intuitively. I have a passion for working with clients to help them better understand their social world, social rules, and how they can interact with others in a successful way.
