As a therapist, I am blessed to witness the power that individuals have to persevere - even thrive - in the face of life's most difficult problems. I know that every patient brings their own courage, strength and skills, though they may not recognize these aspects of themselves. As a Christian, I understand the power of grace, having experienced it in my own life. And, what I appreciate most about the therapeutic relationship is the opportunity to share grace with others while helping them move beyond the emotional, behavioral, or relational issues that keep them from having the life they desire.
My basic approach to therapy is strength-based, practical and solution-focused. Still, I recognize the importance of using other methods of treatment, such as EMDR for trauma, that may work better for a particular client. I will use the most effective approach to help you heal and move forward.
I am a Christian willing to share, but not to impose, my beliefs. As a father of two boys, I understand the male point of view but am not limited by it: a good choice for men uncomfortable with counseling and those with a history of negative male experiences.
