I will guide you through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and other creative approaches that I gained in my Counseling and Art Therapy graduate program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. For over 20 years, I have worked with individuals and families and in groups in a variety of settings, including day treatment and residential treatment programs, a children's hospital, corrections, community mental health, schools, and home-based treatment.
I provide a safe space for people to be heard and seen. I suggest practical tools and offer guidance to support people who've experienced trauma and people who are feeling overwhelmed. I specialize in creative approaches to manage your mood and transform grief and loss.
I work with clients who prefer to receive feedback and constructive suggestions based on their emotional needs and challenges. Clients have shared with me that they want to hear responses from me and don't want to feel like they do all of the talking.
